Please note: the information about Annie's mother, and her anscestors, is very sketchy. It's all based on guesswork, and should not be taken too seriously. At best, it can be used as a starting point for some more serious research. But this research, it seems, can't be done on the Internet, and maybe not in libraries and official archives either. You almost certainly would have to rely on the oral history held by the local iwi in and around Kawhia.

My name is John Williams, and I live in Dunedin. Annie Laurie was my great great great grandmother. I gathered this information a few years ago (from about 2000 to 2006) but have not been active in keeping it up to date. My interest waned once I realised that it would be very hard to establish who Annie's mother was. To do this, it seems that one would have to gain the trust of the local iwi at Kawhia. That process would take years, and I don't want to know that badly!
